- According to the 1888 and 1899 issues of the LEHIGH & HUDSON RIVER RAILWAY Directory both times James Riley of Greycourt is listed as a "railroad track hand" with no reference given to the name of the employing railroad. Many railroad employees listed showed ERIE or L&HR as their employer. A complete 1890 L&HR payroll with names, titles, etc. does not show James as an employee for the L&HR.

- James Reilly.
Goshen, Nov. 27 - James Reilly died at his home in Greycourt Sunday morning. Mr. Reilly was born in Ireland, 72 years ago, coming to this country when about 20 years of age, and settling in Greycourt, where he has since resided.
Deceased was married 47 years ago, his wife preceding him in death by about seven months.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. John Welsh, of Corona, Long Island; Michael, of Paterson, N. J.; John, of Warwick, Daniel, of Elizabeth, N. J.;
Mrs. Kane and James, at home.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at St. Columba's Church, Chester, where requiem mass will be celebrated by Rev. James A. Maloney. Interment in St. Columba's Cemetery.

- James Reilly, Sr.
James Reilly, Sr. died at his home at Greycourt Sunday morning, November 26. Mr. Reilly was born in Ireland 72 years ago and came to the United States when 20 years of age. He soon found employment at Greycourt and resided at that place ever since. He was married 47 years ago, the death of his wife occuring seven months ago. Surviving are six
children, Mrs. John E. Welch, of Corona, L. I.; M. Walter, of Paterson, N. J.; John E., L. & H. train dispatcher at Warwick; Daniel, of Elizabeth, N. J.; Mrs. Margaret Kane and James J., of Greycourt.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Columba Church, Chester, of which Mr. Reilly was a consistent member. Requiem mass
was celebrated by Rev. James A. Maloney; interment in church cemetery.

- There was a fire in 1876 that destroyed almost all of the records for the town of Chester.
The response from The Church of St. John the Evangelist to a letter of request on 25 Feb 2006 states that there was "no record" for the marriage of James Reilly and Maria Cady in 1870.
