    • He was awarded lot 69 in district 2 of Washington County.  Grant number 135 was made 30 Aug 1806.  A married man with a wife and/or children, 1 year residence in Georgia, and citizenship in United States was allowed 2 draws in the 1805 lottery.

      [It is unknown whether this is the same Stephen as was found a year later in Montgomery County.  However, no other known Stephen Riches were born early enough to have participated in the 1805 land lottery.  Burke County was a neighbor to Montgomery in 1805.]
