, Early County, Georgia, USA |
- Martha filed a petition dated 21 Jul 1855 in Decatur County for a bounty land grant based on her husband's service in the War of 1812.
She claimed she was 67 years old at the time of filing, which would be consistent with a birth year of about 1787.
Please note, this source has not yet been verified by the author of this web site. The claim is filed as #42382-160-55 and the original will be examined as soon as time permits.

| Alt. Death |
- Her grave marker does not provide a birth date and only provides a only the year 1848 as the date of death. This cannot be correct because she was enumerated in the 1850 census with her daughter, Melvina, and her son-in-law, Leonidas Duke(s), as a 53 year old [which would be consistent with a birth year of about 1797]. According to one researcher, the family Bible of Leonidas P. Duke, Sr., husband of Martha's daughter, Melvina Fenn Duke, lists Martha's exact date of death as 10 May 1859.
