[Note: This would seem to indicate that Shadrach lived in Wake County, North Carolina at some point, but moved away some time before 26 November 1798.  It seems he was "long gone" as he was completely unknown to the administrator of the Munn estate.  Therefore, it is definitely possible that he is the same person who was in Edgefield County, South Carolina by the 1790 census, while at the same time, tying him in with the Riches who earlier lived in Wake County, North Carolina.]

• Notes

  The guesstimate for Shadrach's birth year of 1746-1756 is based on the fact that "Shadrachme Rich" was head of household in the 1790 census and was at least 16, making him born in 1775 at the latest.  However, he was probably born much earlier based on the fact that the census showed a female (probably a wife) and several children in the household, one older than 16.  Also, he was a bondsman for the marriage of his sister Agness in 1776.  He still paid a poll tax in 1806, so he was presumably not older than 60 at that time.  Therefore, he could not have been born before 1746. A person named Shadrach Rich paid taxes in Decatur County, Georgia in 1825, but was not found in the county tax lists any other year.  Could this have been the same man?  Based on other evidence, he was probably a son or grandson.  See Individual 4028 in this database for more information on the other Shadrach Rich, possibly born about 1801.
